Language Arts at I.S.S.H.
Philosophy
Our Language Arts program provides rich and varied experience in each of the four interrelated language skills: listening, speaking, writing and reading. Our curriculum reflects best educational practices–phonetic awareness is a taught component of the program in conjunction with a whole language approach. We recognize that there are many ways in which children learn and thus, our program builds on what the children already know about oral and written language and acknowledges that children have different learning styles, interests, motivation and levels of maturation.
